1. Create a user ID & password – Before you can apply for a job, you’ll need to create a user ID and password. Once you’ve established your account, you will gain access to all site features.
2. Develop your online profile – By creating an online profile, you will be able to explore and apply for current openings, track the status of submitted applications and sign up to receive job alert emails when a position matching your qualifications and interests becomes available. You can save and update your profile as needed.
3. Search our job listings – There are a variety of ways to find job opportunities within our online system. You can browse all of our current openings or explore specific professional areas.
4. Select a specific job – Once you find a position that meets your qualifications and interests, select “Apply For This Job” at the top right of the job posting and follow the prompts.
5. Submit your application – After you apply for a job, you may log into our system at any time to check the status of your application. Please note that our system allows you to submit and track applications for more than one job at a time.

Here’s an overview of the steps involved from the point you submit your application to the day you’re hired:

• After you apply for a position through our website, you may be required to complete a Talent Assessment, which is an Internet-based evaluation that helps us identify top performers for each role. This does not apply for every position, and you will be notified if the job you’ve applied for requires this process.
• A recruiter will review your job qualifications and other relevant information related to the job. Candidates who are the best fit for the position are then referred to the hiring manager for review.
• The hiring manager will review each candidate and decide whom to screen by phone or bring on site for an interview. (Candidates being phone screened or called for an interview are contacted directly by the hiring manager.)
• The hiring manager will interview candidates, a process that may take several weeks. For managerial or leadership positions, final candidates will be requested to complete a position-specific assessment.
• A candidate is selected for the role; the recruiter contacts the candidate to extend an offer and share the position’s salary.
• When an offer is accepted, a background check, references and pre-employment physical are conducted.

Once hired, the first day of employment will be at the New Hire Orientation..

While the above list provides a general overview of the hiring process, the steps may vary from position to position based on each role’s responsibilities and qualifications. Please remember the following when applying for a job with the Hospital:

• The hiring process takes 52 days on average for non-nursing roles and as long as 10 weeks for nursing roles.
• We try our best to respond to every application submitted, but may not be able to due to high demand for some positions.
• You can track your application’s status via our careers site.
• Interviews may be conducted one-on-one, in panel format, or both.
• In addition to a background check, candidates who receive an offer will be subject to drug/alcohol testing and a pre-employment physical.
• Falsification of information, failure to pass these tests, or tampering with the results is grounds for dismissal.
• Once hired, credentialing can take three months or more for non-nursing roles and nearly six months for nursing roles.

Income and Sales Tax Rates

Succeeding In Your New Role

We want to provide you with the support, tools and resources you need to excel as a new member of our team. Once you complete our New Hire Orientation, you’ll begin your six-month employment trial period. During the first week or so of this phase, you will focus on familiarizing yourself with your department and colleagues. You’ll also have the opportunity to sit down with your supervisor to set goals and expectations for yourself and your position. After this initial meeting, you’ll be well on your way to making your time at Stanford Hospital & Clinics one of the most exciting of your career.
